eBay additional services available. Guess you can cut in line.

On one of the items I am watching on eBay:

Additional services available

PSA Grading - Express - $149.00

After this lot ends later today, June 2, I will share a couple reasons why I did not bid on the lot. Trying to maintain the privacy of the auction while it is ongoing. Afterwards......

PSA offers direct grading on items won on ebay, they are shipped directly to PSA from the seller. It is something you can opt in on, just like using the vault.

Thank you. I could have used the service on a card recently purchased on eBay, but the option was not in the card listing, but the card was submitted to PSA via eBay policy, i.e. paid over $250.00.

Now, this is the listing that contained the

The reasons I didn't bid were that despite (1) next to the user's name indicating one feedback there was zero feedback.

Secondly, joined March 2017 without any feedback.

Third is that on May 26 I asked this:

What is the stain to the right of Cobb's head?

The time stamped response:

I have always thought it happened in printing. I have had it for 75 years and it has always been there.

Summary: Member for over 7 years with no feedback and he's had the card for 75 years. ????

I wish the buyer the best with the PSA option if they choose it to grade the card beyond authentication. Because of the listing and the PSA grading option I found by calling eBay today the PSA grading option was made available starting on March 30. The lot I won on April 5 did not have the option since it started before March 30.

The listing isn't properly coming up with that link. No photos or seller description. It just shows something to do with a T206 Cobb/Cobb back. There's no way that would be a $149 PSA Express grading fee.

It should fail Authenticity Guarantee for this reason: "Ungraded - Near mint or better".

I presume that eBay will contact the winning bidder and see if they want it despite its condition flaws.

What a messed up listing.
Who has had their cards 75 years? (ok, maybe a few board members but not ebayers)

Jewish-collector 06-03-2025 10:29 AM

Stupid question, but I'll ask anyway. :D
Why didn't the seller get it graded before listing it ?
