This signature is on the back of what OP in Memorabilia section says is an Authentic 1930's Pittsburgh Crawfords Crawfords Broadside. I have a number of Satchel Paige Signatures none look similar. None have his first name missing the e. Would appreciate opinions from this side of the board in case I like this signature am missing something.

Much appreciated
Jonathan

100% real, later in life autograph. No comment on the broadside. Not my area.

As to the anomalies, it's just an IP rush job, clearly signed when Paige's focus wasn't 100% on signing. He was always careful when devoting his undivided attention to the task.

Agreed; awkward size of piece probably contributed to the sloppiness. (I'd imagine whoever got this, was passing around the "poster")

Thank you both very much for your help. The OP posted a full picture of the back. The Louis Gossett Jr. Signature , the Words Don't look back, combined with your " late in life" estimate on the signature, put the puzzle together. Poster was from the 1981 movie about Satchel Paige.
