ARod is a fine guess, as he was drafted #1 overall in the '93 draft, but he exceeded his rookie limit during '95 when he only had 149 Played Appearances and didn't garner any ROY votes. He would have won it the next year though, when he finished 2nd in MVP

Darryl Strawberry?

Correct! Strawberry was the #1 draft pick out of Crenshaw High School in LA in 1980 and won ROY 3 years later.

Dwight Gooden and Derek Jeter

Good NY guesses, but Gooden was drafted 3rd overall and Jeter 6th.
