All Rise! INDEED!
I've never been a Yankees fan, but this is amazing to witness:

Quite a start he's having. I'll still take Ohtani over him as a hitter though

As a Yankees fan whose favorite player is Aaron Judge, I rejoice to see that not only is Judge not slowing down, he's getting better.

He's the best natural hitter I think I'll ever see in my life, although his late start to his career won't lead to the same career accumulations as others. His peak ability is rivaled by maybe a handful in history, maybe! I can't give credibility to Bonds post juice stats and Judges numbers now destroy Bonds pre juice numbers. Would love to see him get a ring but Cashman and ownership need to make some big moves. The Cole injury is killer but they gotta act. They don't have a legit 3rd baseman and the staff is in shambles outside of Fried and Rodon. Awfully hard to compete with the Dodgers and their control over all of Japans talent and the insane staff they have. |

Ohtani is no slouch but his OPS+ last year during his 50/50 season was 189. He did lead the NL but when you look at Judge, his OPS+ was an otherworldly 223. Very few people have posted an OPS+ over 200 and Judge was at 223. During his 62 homer season his OPS+ was also 210. |

It's certainly debatable though, just my preference |
When I saw the thread I thought it was going to be about the 100 year old Iwo Jima survivor singing the national anthem at the Nascar race in Texas on sunday.

To each their own for sure. I will say though it is really fun watching Judge play center when he’s out there. Not too many guys his size could do that. |

My only modern "card"

Ohtani versus Judge to anchor a team is always a fun debate. I've had my share or beers at the bar discussing that one.
Here's my Mount Rushmore of Yankees. In chronological order: Gehrig DiMaggio Mickey Mantle Derek Jeter Honorable Mention: Babe Ruth, Yogi Berra and Mariano Rivera Note that I value captaincies and WS rings more highly than individual stats, though individual stats are still important. Babe Ruth was stripped of his position as team captain for poor behavior, which in some ways is worse than never being a captain at all. After Gehrig died, the owner said there would never be another Yankee captain. That was the case until Steinbrenner bought the team. Jeter is the only modern captain in the HOF, and he has five rings. |
Both Judge and Ohtani are worth the money so far.
|
Yeah, f**king Ohtani. He had a decent night.
