Micah Marshall - Madi$on18joshua on the forum

Micah Marshall is Madi$on18joshua on the forum. He was just banned from the forum for reneging mulitple times, in the last few years, at auction houses.

We don't want people who reneg at auction houses here on the forum. IF you have credible proof a member has reneged at an auction house, please PM me. You will stay anonymous.

thanks
management

I saw his other post. Did he renege on that Cracker Jack Jackson? He was all about that new price.

I have no idea. What I do know is, it was more than 2 major auctions in the last few years he didn't pay. I spoke with him this morning on the phone about it.
After a few awkward minutes (for him, not me) I asked him if he renegged in those auctions.

His answer - " I can't say I did ".......I said "Just exactly what does THAT mean?" He was tongue tied. I told him I didn't want people who reneg in auctions on the forum. He said, you have to do what you have to do. I said ok and good bye.
He always seemed like a decent guy the several times I spoke with him. Oh well...

ps. I also received a pm from another forum member this morning about a reneg on the BST. The other guys response to the seller when he asked if he was going to pay was "No, I spent the money on other things". He is gone too.

Perhaps he spent all of his money on replacing the 'S' in his member ID here with a '$' sign. I have heard through various sources that the cost of getting all the required paperwork notarized is quite expensive.

The ps. reminds me of the time a bookie on facebook reached out to me, asking me if so-and-so was my son, because he made bets with him and he refuses to pay. I called my son, and his response was, "I have other debts to pay that are more important than his." I told my son that a debt is a debt and all are important and must be paid. Odd how some people think and try to justify themselves.

Maybe I'm just too Italian here, but I would think a bookie would be high on the list of debts to be paid back, just due to the danger to life and limb that seems to accompany those debts.

Just every day. :)

Hate to hear about Micah getting kicked off
Never did any deals with him that I remember but we have talked CJs in the past

Not paying for cards won is a huge no no

Bpm0014 05-06-2025 12:51 PM

Just every day.

It doesn't. In the slight chance it does happen, it's miniscule compared to the 60s 70s 80s. But in 99.99999999% of the time, it doesn't.

Well, then you should tell some of my clients who are charged with violating 18 USC secs. 892 & 894. I'll let them know that their charges are mere delusions in their own minds, because of your vast experience in dealing with organized crime.

mrreality68 05-06-2025 03:13 PM

thanks Leon for all you do

Reneging, shill bidding...it's all bad.

ajjohnsonsoxfan 05-06-2025 07:39 PM

I can't imagine bidding and winning an auction and then just not paying. That's wild. I guess there's one-off situations....(you just got a terminal cancel diagnosis and need to divert the money to paying your medical bills).

I’m a cop. And I have 20+ years experience with gambling rings and paying debts. Sec. 892 isn’t even relevant to our argument. Sec. 894 is however. And again; this isn’t 1950-1990. “Bookies” for the most don’t “break your legs” anymore because so many people ran to the cops. So yes, through my vast experience, I stand by my statement. Does it happen here and there? Sure. But it’s 1 in a 100.

I guess it’s just like I read about in the WSJ. The mob can’t find good people anymore. Kids these days just want to text a threat over the phone. They have no appreciation for the importance of delivering the message in person and backing it up.

RCMcKenzie 05-07-2025 12:19 AM

Did you see that James Woods movie, "Cop", where they took his badge away and at the end of the movie they said you can't do that, you're a cop and he said yeah, but they took my badge away, and I don't give a ...." Great movie, I thought.

If you’re a cop as opposed to a federal agent, then you’ve never arrested someone for any violation of the United States Code, have you? Regardless, 892 is making extortionate extensions of credit and 894 is collections of credit by extortionate means. They usually go hand in hand in a case, no? And while today’s mafia isn’t the mafia from the 60s and 70s, they sure do still earn income from loansharking and betting. If people stopped victimizing others due to concern their victims would run to law enforcement, there would be no more crime committed. I’m sure we can both agree that’s not the case.

Bpm0014 05-07-2025 11:39 AM

The mob can’t find good people anymore.

It's watered down. Even John Gotti's kid wouldn't have been made back in the day due to being part Jewish.
