Question(s) about some Old Team Photos
Hey All-
I have a few of photos like the one posted, below (others are Yankees Teams; however, those are currently framed on the wall) that do seem like they're old; I'm a little out of my wheel house with these, but I'd assume they're probably printed in the same time period of the teams depicted (40's). I just had a few questions I was hoping someone (or multiple someones) could help answer: - Is there anyway to easily date these with limited information? They're all on Really Shiny Photo Paper (that has a slight curl as in it was "dunked" at some time [IDK what the photo developers call that, but pretty sure its part of old school photo development]) - Is there a special way to tell "types?" Or is it pretty much something you just "know?" - Can a Type I photo theoretically have been sold in a Team Store and/or have 10,000+ copies? Is it really just the 2 years original negative thing? - Are there any "Must Have" visual guides for Photos like other collectibles? I appreciate the help, I may add a few more Questions as I learn about Vintage Photos. Here's the one I'm referencing (definitely low grade but neat; I'll add an actual shot in a bit to demonstrate said curl) https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1...924/OUhss1.jpg https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1...923/IF6x6X.jpg |

Its very hard to give an opinion on the type of photo from a picture of the photo. So, I'll pass on giving an opinion of the type.
Regarding can it be a type I? Yes, if it's an original Dorrill photo made from the original negative it can be a type I. Pictured is one of mine from 1944. Hope this helps. |
