I can’t find it in my pennant guide and it looks like it was commercially made, although not the best quality. Maybe posted it the pennant collectors thread, and see if anyone recognizes it.

I believe it is homemade and most likely is not from the era. However, I tend to be pessimistic about things like that so I hope I am wrong. I do agree you should post it on the memorabilia side to get the best information.

What looks commercially made about it?

To me it screams homemade. The amateurish stitching, the ridiculously poorly spaced hand-stenciled lettering which I've never seen on any pennant, the materials used. I see nothing about it that suggests it's a production piece.

Correct. Complete Fantasy, artificially aged. There's also a similar Gehrig out there.

I can't recall if this was discussed in the Pennant Thread (which contains over 9,500 comments) or another thread specific to this piece. If it's in the Pennant Thread, good luck finding it....

Either way, it's undeniably a Fantasy Piece and Buyer beware.

Thanks Everyone for the help.

Modern made to look old. One big clue is that the pennant says 1927 but the photo is from 1934:

A similar pennant is in Egner's pennant guide (2nd ed), in the category of pennants believed to be fake (p. 232)

I thought it looked "made-up" to start with.
