Help With ID, 1930's-1940's Baseball?

This signature came out of an autograph album I recently purchased it spanned the 1930's and 1940's and was 90% baseball with well over 100 autographs I was able to identify all of them except this one. Does anyone recognize who it might be? Thanks in advance

If all else fails try reddit r/transcription. They are very very good at deciphering unreadable text. Even in different languages and ancient.

Any chance you have a Charlie Butler, Jerry Lynn, John Fick or Jack Phillips in that book. Probably not but worth a try.

Was this Jack Phillips drafted during WWII? I vaguely recall I may have a WWII item with someone of that name, but know it is a pretty common name, so want to check with you before digging through things.

I believe he's looking for JACK S. PHILLIPS 1945 Giants He died in St. Louis by accidental electrocution at the age of 39, ten years after leaving baseball. Tough autograph.

Phillips, Bob Thorpe (1955) and John Carden all suffered the same fate. Geremi Gonzalez was struck by lightning, so a different type of electrocution, but alas...

True That! But only one former major leaguer was ever eaten by a dinosaur :)
