1926 patent Denkert Glove + 1910+ white leather

Never thought I'd restore another vintage glove, but a local antique store had ten or so and I came home with four of them.

Top one is a large Denkert like what Tony Lazzeri wore in the photo below. Bottom one is an unstamped white leather ~1910-15.

Rats - I can't get these sized correctly. Seems like I used to be able to get a clickable thumbnail posted. I surrender for now.

Very cool gloves! The white one is my favorite. What were the other two you bought?

A Marathon 'Mule Haas' in really nice condition - did not require any restoration - and an unknown late '20s/early '30s dark brown with tunnel loops. Palm side is in rough but restorable condition.

There are so many garbage gloves in antique stores that I don't normally give them a good look. The one I liked the best was a 1910's Thos. Wilson, but it was not something I could have restored. But I still might go back and buy it.

Nice gloves Scott. The white is my favorite too. Good to hear form you. I had to check the date on your post...because when I saw a post from you about gloves, I thought it was 2005. :p. Hope all is well with you.

Haha! Aren't you the funny guy. Hey, 2000-2005 were the 'Golden Years' when you could still get just about anything you wanted. Just wish I had bought a T206 Honus Wagner back then...and a copy of Spiderman #1.

very cool. Amazing those guys ever caught anything. I can still hear my Dad yelling, "two hands, two hands!"

I've played catch with gloves similar to the 1/5" white one. Today we rely on the web - back then the glove was mainly just hand protection. I used to sometimes play outfield in softball, bare-handed. It wasn't really a big deal except for hard bouncers.
