SOLD 1964 Topps Near Set, 440/587, Ex/ExMt
 

This near set includes 440 different cards out of 587 in the set….75% complete. This is a nice start at an upper midgrade set. There are many cards that exceed the average condition estimate. The entire group presents very sharply.


The lot also includes 77% of the tougher Series 7 cards (50/65), including nice copies of the Hubbs, Mazeroski, Kaat, Hodges and RedSox/Dodgers team cards. If anything, the last series are a slight notch above the rest of the cards, ranging ExMt.

Centering and some corner dings are the condition issues throughout. No creases or major surface issues that I see . Backs are very clean and consistent.

I took a few more pictures of the series 7 cards for inspection and comparison…happy to take more of anything that folks want to see. The rest of the shots are representative of the overall set with focus on the stars.

This near set does not have any of the major superstars, but has quite a few of the next tier. Lolich RC, Larussa RC, Spahn, Gibson, Perry, Santo, Marichal, Stengel, Pepitone RC, Fox, Colavito, Lopez, Wynn RC, B Williams, Drysdale, Snider, Pinella RC, Debusshere, Groat, Richardson, Boyer , Koufax WS, Alston, Fox/Killebrew, McCovey/Wagner plus most of the team cards, World Series cards, league leader cards and checklists. Card #1 Koufax leader is not in good condition…it is an outlier. Checklists are unmarked
