New Wave of Spammers on the Forum

1 Attachment(s)
Two times today a spammer has come on the forum and spammed multiple sections. When that happens, they are immediately banned and all of their posts are removed. If anyone responds to them, those are being removed too....Thanks for your patience.

And a few cards..

I saw those threads, they were clearly SPAM by the weird way they were titled.

Thank You for keeping the site safe, Leon. clap

The scammers back - Sure is persistent

Leon, how are they accessing the site? Users need to be approved to post correct?

This guy is a spammer not a scammer, he is using sleeper accounts created in 2022.

All of the accounts are years old. I'm assuming just spam accounts that slipped through the cracks. How they can post, I'm not sure. So that leads me to think they're likely hacked accounts. Being a Tapatalk user I can tell you these last few spammer/scammers have not used tapatalk to post. (No Tapatalk symbol by names)

The weirdest part is how the spam isn't coherent at all. The only thing that makes sense is its a phishing tactic. Maybe a session hijacker which are extremely dangerous, They can hack bank/other accounts just by clicking a link.

I think it would be worth hiring a cyber security expert or somebody who is very well versed on forum backend and can make some kind of security changes?

For now, they will just be banned and have their posts deleted. Please PM me when you see one. I just now deleted another.

They aren't registering. They are coming through however they are coming through. Almost none of the troll/scammers register. So, I am not approving them.

For those who missed it, there was a heavy blanket of new (obviously spam) threads appearing in virtually every corner of Net54 yesterday.

My grasp on Cyrillic is loose, but the threads seemed to be centered around starting new arguments about graded vs. ungraded cards, and how modern stuff has either ruined or possibly greatened(?) the hobby we love...plus there was some hatred of the Post Office tossed in. :D:eek::D
