D381 Fleischman or Ferguson Bakery

Is there a way to tell which bakery is associated with the card if the tab has been removed?

I tell by 1 line vs 2 lines too, but, I am pretty sure there is at least 1 exception to the rule, if I recall correctly.

Yes, all Fergusons have 1 line of ID with name and team on the bottom.

However, there are several Fleischmanns that have both versions and possibly a couple that are only known with1 line of text as Fleischmann. Off the top of my head I don't think I've seen a 2 line Mike Mowrey or J. Johnston version, all of their Fleischmanns are 1 text that I've seen I think, although a 2 line may exist.

RJ Egan and Red Smith are others whos Fleischmann is usually 1 line (seems lightly more common) but he has a few variations and a 2 line exists too. They each have a 1 line text flieschmann in 2 variations, one having a gap/space between photo bottom and text and one having no gap.

Casey Stengel has a 1 line and a 2 line Fleischmann variation, one is a spelling error as well.

Generally if you see a 1 line of any other player it's most definitely a Ferguson besides these few players who had both Fleischmanns.

Honestly not sure about PSA grading without the obvious tab showing the name.

I think psa likely would have labeled those as Fergusons but I said on the form when I submitted that they were Fleischmanns. I know those 1 lines were all Fleischmanns as they were all from my families original NY Fleischmann collection.

There’s lots of mislabeled cards from the sets. I have some Fergusons that are labeled as Fleischmann also.
