Honus & Plank Appearance on eBay Today

2 Attachment(s)
Did anyone see this mixed lot show-up on eBay today? If the Honus and Plank are fake, they are really good ones. No doubt other cards in the group are legit.

Someone pulled the trigger on the $8k buy it now. New seller, no feedback, and no eBay authentication. A big risk for a possible huge gain. Thoughts?

7K+ down the drain.

Hmm. I’d be curious to see how this turns out. The world will likely never know.

The Wagner in the first, group photo is very different than the separate photo. I wonder if eBay will honor the refund if these are verified to be fakes.

Fantastic presentation of classic Etsy fakes sprinkled in with some legit commons.

Besides the fact Wagner's don't just appear in the wild... on eBay... for $8k... with two of other toughest tobacco cards...

You can't fake t206 shading. It's the easiest tell of an authentic card of any pre-war set. eBay fake on left. Authentic Wagner on right.

Yeah are there two Wagners in the lot ?
Not that I care

As someone said earlier, the Wagner in the group picture is not the same as the solo Wagner picture. Just look at the corners. The first thing I thought when I aw the Wagner was fake.

And there just happens to be a Plank in the lot.......which does look like a really good fake.

And then to have both versions of the Hoblitzell?

Also, if he listed each card with the back versions, and lists the Wagner, Plank, and Hoblitzell as RARE, wouldn't he know the true value of the cards if they were RARE and then why only a buy it now of $8k?

Buyer just lost a lot of money.

A fool and his money......
and
If it's too good to be true........

If some kid from PSA now authenticates them, you really have to worry. Or does it avoid that process despite the price tag because it's a lot?

No authentication but listing does say returns are accepted for 30 days so buyer should have a chance to get money back.

I mean they're probably not the wooorst fakes I've ever seen, but.. yeahhh

The rounded corners of the first Wagner (in the group lot) are a dead giveaway that it’s fake.

Fun thought:
Just imagine that one time in a million (billion?) when a listing like this would actually be for the real cards...and you're able to jump on it.
