I Think I Found a Mantle Premium - Can I "Save It?!"

Been show hopping like crazy and snagged this from a $5/stack as I was pretty sure it was a "premium-something" but couldn't remember seeing it anywhere.

After some digging, I'm fairly certain its a 1964 Rawlings Premium Photo and appears to be pretty rare to a standard collector, but not so much to a Mantle PSA-Registry Collector, considering POP count (and the inability to find listings, former or current with this image)

That being said; it appears to be laminated and mounted - given its low pop-count, I have a strong desire to get this slabbed and was wondering if anyone has had success in removal or even cutting down the backer-board on a mounted item like this?

Considering what I have in this, minimal damage is preferred but "will take it" if I can get it to the point where the Registry-Nuts Collectors who like Mickey Mantle can fight over it, even if that involves a rip/tear along the way.

Thanks and appreciate the help!

If it's laminated, it's already poor/authentic. Therefore, I'd have no issue removing the backing board (either by cutting around the picture or by peeling it off. Do you know if the back is also laminated?

My Thoughts as well - A Scarce Premium "Poor / Authentic" Mantle is better than having NO Scarce Premium Mantle.

No, its only laminated on the front and appears to have a little bit of "non-stuck" area around the phot/card itself - I have some tools that should be able to assist, just wanted to see if others though there was a chance it was possible before diving in! (With a slight internal debate of "leave it alone" but not sure if I can do that)

A word to the wise

Be patient whatever you try. You can always do a little more but can never undo a “too aggressive “ move. So proceed with caution…. and good luck !!!! Rocky

Thanks for the input - I'm starting to get a little bored of the standard Topps Releases and having an absolute blast branching out to the "Unknown" and that goes hand in hand with these How to? and What did I find Posts? So thanks for the notes / Input! (I'm still doing the boring ol' Topps, too though)

And the next steps on our story:

From what I know about these, I think its good!

I'll give it another update in a bit after I clean it up

EDIT: Updating here to minimize clutter. I've got it cleaned up as close as I can but not a pro, so its not perfect but may touch it up again once or twice prior to sending off.

It's the "Black Sleeves" Variation, can't find another listed nor sold. I know I'm not getting a million for it, but still exciting - If you'll notice the title says "Rare" and not "Expensive"

Yes...but its not rare
I've had many..mist people in the registry have it
And they show upon ebay all the time
Its a good find...just not rare
