Vintage pieces in a contemporary store.

I enjoy (viewing) one of the more recent trends, especially in higher end neigborhoods, of selling contemporary (and some vintage) clothing, and decorating the store with a vintage decor. It’s usually over priced denim and T’s and sweathirts, staged to give you that old vintage feel. Don’t get me wrong, there is not much better than an incredibly soft cotton short or denim, but I mostly enjoy just browsing the stores...and talking pictures!

Came across a beautiful store today - didn’t buy anythng, but if was chock full of items on the wall and hanging, accompanying the new stuff they were selling. I spent 20mins looking at the walls and taking some pics. The owner didn’t seem to mind, I think she appreciated my interest despite the lack of a sale. What caught my eye, from the street, was a red pin striped 1919 jacket, which I immediately recognized, along with some other Princeton reunion jackets.

Anyone else appreciate these contemporary stores and have any pics to share?

While I haven't been to many stores like that I definitely appreciate the aesthetic. I've recently repainted and am in the process of redecorating my office, and I've been looking for cool pre-war hockey photos like that to hang. I was watching a couple nice ones on the last RMY auction but fell asleep and missed them both.:(

Good luck with the decor Paul, we look forward to seeing when finished. There use to be this elegant bar and restaurant near me that had this same aesthetic with walls lined with pre war athletic photos, most original in vintage frames. The place was the inspiration for my old home office. I use to walk around the place studying what was on the walls, probably disturbing the people eating.😁
