Help needed dating this mid 20s? Senators Stub.
 

Came along with a few photos of a cubs player who played in 1925 and 1926. I checked both years to see if the cubs played the Senators on their 30th game and neither matched. I have never attempted to date a ticket so I'm pretty lost here.

Don't know if this is completely relevant, but Yankees tickets were the same price from 1928 thru 1932

Who was the player? That may help….. I’m pretty sure the Cubs and Senators never played each other in the those days since they weren’t in the same league. Rocky

Joe Munson was the player. Played for the 1925 and 1926 cubs. Another stub from the lot that's football related is dated 1927. I'm thinking Joe just enjoyed attending games after his time as a player.

I saw that Doug, but wasn't sure if the info pertained to other clubs or if it had to do with Rain check games.

Looks like he DID play for the “Senators” and won the triple crown !!! Don’t know how this relates….. it was the minor league Harrisburg Senators…..
Munson attended Lehigh University, where he played college baseball.[1] He then played in the minor leagues from 1918 through 1932,[2] initially playing under the name "Joe Martin".[citation needed] With the Harrisburg Senators in 1925, he won the Eastern League triple crown,[citation needed] leading the league with a .400 batting average, 33 home runs and 129 RBIs, while also recording 188 hits, 132 runs scored, and 17 triples.[2]
This was from Wikipedia….. the mystery continues but he was no scrub!!!!

Definitely no Scrub, not many minor leaguers that hit over 200 home runs and bat (likely) well over .300. Very strange as to why he got such a short major league stint where he hit .287... Again pretty good. Deserved more chances.

Here is a snap of Joe in the early 20s with the Galveston Sand Crabs of the Texas League I believe this is early, likely 1922.

And one of him catching a fish in 1925 spring training on Catalina island. A real paradise for the cubs. Looks like he's walking the plank.

The third is the strangest in terms to his other namesake. It is from Joes time in Dallas, 1921 with the Dallas Submarines, again of the Texas league. It is typewritten on the back as "Joseph Carlson" Dallas Texas. And then has his hometown Renovo PA. I believe the Yankees had some kind of tie to the team like many major league clubs did in the 20s, that's why it says New York Yankees on the front.

Fourth is another 1925 spring snap from Catalina island. With a handful of teammates, Joe being on the far right. Haven't gotten to deciphering the other players yet. Love the sweaters.

I also have a postcard of Joe from 1921 in his Dallas uniform, but it is ripped in half. Hope to repair it soon. (Not pictured)

These are the main reason I bought the lot, not the stub 🤣.

Hi Lucas,
The photo of the player with the fish and the last photo were likely taken on Catalina Island in CA. That was the spring training home of the Cubs.

Thanks Scott, I already had that in each photos description, but I don't blame you for sharing. I was asking for help, so to switch up and start posting about photos is not typical lol.

Is it possible this ticket came from the early 30s?

Reason being it appears the Senators used this style of ticket from the 20s into the 30s.

This is very likely. I just got a message from Steven Keyman. It is 1929-1932. But he can't narrow it further. So that's good enough for me.
