Completed some T206 Sub Sets today
10 Attachment(s)
Although very close on a few other sub sets, as of today, I have completed three, the Boston Doves, the Chicago Americans and the St Louis Browns…..and one, as you will see, barring a miracle or me in an attic rummaging through an old trunk……ain’t gonna ever be finished, as they say. ( but then again, hope springs eternal. ) I’m very close on the Giants…my favorite…I need 3 only , Bull Durham, and 2 Mathewson ( portrait and white cap).I’ve been picking away at the Cubs lately. Finally got a Chance red portrait and a Tinker portrait, and I have well over half of the set, but it is going to be a climb nonetheless. The cards that are slabbed, I just put an insert card in the album with a description of that card. But…..having a great time and especially dealing with wonderful folks here who have and continue to help me on this journey. Hope you are having as much fun as I am.

Those are great looking all together like that. The Big Ed Walsh portrait is one of the best looking t206 of them all. Congratulations, sir!

Congratulations, sir. Great pics and cards.

Thank you James and boysblue . I worked organizing my Cubs to see what I lacked today for future “hunting”
Also, just need three to complete the Giants Bull Durham Two Mathewson ( portrait and the white cap) Also, inching closer to the 400 card mark . The thing about the T206’s , there are many ways to collect them and it’s still very possible however you do it. I love my Cracker Jack cards ( I have over 30) , but most are in the $300 -$400 range on the lower end, a lot harder and more expensive set, even though, less cards to find. |
Bull Durham is on his way home

Great news, just filled the Durham spot in the Giants sub set. The seller was very generous on the deal…..so….2 Matty’s to go!

It's always great to complete a subset, especially for something like T206 that requires a lot of time, patience, and $$ to complete the main set.
Congratulations! |

Thank you Fred…you are so right on all three! And reading books or even short bios on the players you are collecting as you go makes it even more fascinating. Recently , I completed acquiring the 5 Chase T206 cards and started reading “ The Black Prince of Baseball”on Hal Chase….so far, an amazing read.
|
Congrats on completing those subsets and I will second how great that Hal Chase book is! Finished it myself in January.
|
Thanks Chris……and btw, really enjoying your you tube videos, and agree with your approach and thoughts on collecting this great set of cards….especially on getting to know the individual players, who were the original owners of the cards, the journey of the cards….all of it. Keep it up!

Congrats, Chris!
The chase is most of the fun for many, including me. Good luck in the quest! . |
Hi Mike, your cards look great in order by team. Congratulations on the newest addition. I often forget how nice T206's look, when together by team, portraits, or backs. I keep all of mine in alphabetical order, so it makes it easier to find a certain card to share a picture of, or to consider an upgrade. So I don't enjoy them as much, because of the quantity I have, and the lack of large empty wall space in my house where I could enjoy seeing them while I work.

Thanks Uncle Nacki,
Appreciate the comment. I really like organizing them alphabetically by team. The Southern leaguers have their own section together as do the other minor teams. |
