Completing 1967 Topps baseball set

1 Attachment(s)
I have almost finished upgrading my 1967 Topps baseball set. I still need Tom Seaver, Brooks Robinson, and Red Sox team card. My goal has been to focus on the centering of the cards, sharpness of the corners, and overall surface. I hope to complete the set in the near future in NrMt+ condition. Attached is a photo of a sample high series page.

Very Nice ! I completed a high grade centered raw 67 set years ago. It was surely a challenge. I am working on a 72 set now !

NICE

I’m 17cards short on my nm set. All high numbers but thankfully only stars are Rocky C and M Wills

Nice cards and a fun set to complete from scratch.

Wow, your cards are incredible! Having completed this set I am impressed. I think it may be my favorite Topps set.

Great cards. I put the set together and really enjoyed the challenge. It was raw and it wasn't very close to high grade but I loved it.

I am working on 1967 also. I started about two years ago and have only 6 cards to go to finish the first five series. Aaron and Mays are 2 of those 6. When I get to the 6th and 7th series, the story is a bit different. I have about 2/3 of the 6th series, but less than half of the high number 7th series. While I do have the Carew RC, most of the high numbers I have were the ones that were double printed within the series. So, I expect that progress will only be one or two cards at a time.

I don't have any expectation when I will complete the set, what with both Seaver and Brooks to go. But, it took me over 5 years to complete 1968 Topps and that isn't nearly as difficult a set to complete. So, I would guess it will probably surpass the 5 years it took on '68.

My first Topps cards purchased from wax packs as a kid were 1968 but I really dove in to cards in 1969. I had probably 5000 or more but most disappeared over the years.

In 2019 I completed my 1968 set going card by card that I started in 2017. The average grade is Ex-mt 6 but many stars are NM 7. It was interesting to see how expensive some of the high number commons were but overrall it was a good project but I can't say that it was fun. Fun now to look at my binder.

In early 2020 I was going to do the same for 1969 but bailed on that. Just too much work and the pandemic boosted prices overall much more than I was willing to pay at that time.

So I applaud your 1967 effort! It's worth it though sometimes it won't feel so.

Congratulations! And in view of a different thread, where people went into a frenzy over 67 Topps cards glued to scrapbook pages, indicating the value of this set, quite an accomplishment. I sure wish I could have foreseen this decades ago, when I collected this entire set from packs, according to the checklists, only to walk away from them when I moved out of the house. Mom asked me many times, did I want all my cards. I told her 4 or 5 times no, just get rid of them. She finally did. Then baseball cards became valuable. Oh well, story of my life, shooting toes off.

I love the 67 design…..

When I put the set together (exmt or better) it was a rush picking them all up, 5th and 6th series had some tuff ones, and with the 7th series….you had to throw book value (compared to sell value) out the window…..great set. Just great.

BUT wait….i wasn’t done yet….i went to crazy town and put together 2 more sets. All coming down to needing Seaver or mantle but that’s the fun part for me with just waiting for right one to pop up. I’m a weirdo when putting sets together and like to pick up an extra 5th and 6th series (sometimes 7th) for my extra piles.

I completed my 67 set in excellent condition after 10 years of working on it in 2005. I had a hell of a time trying to find a center Don Clendenon card. It was fun building that set.

I'm close to completing the '67 set. I recently pick up the Brooks Robinson and Colavito cards. This brings me down to needing only 25 to finish. I will be looking for the Seaver at Strongsville. After that the only big card will be the Mike Shannon.
