Great signature …. Still signing

So many modern signatures are piss poor and frankly embarrassing. And not ridiculing guys who didn’t have the opportunity for a good education. Frankly, I think many guys today are illiterate.

Let’s celebrate modern players who are still signing and who have a cool signature, done with care. Here’s one I do not have but always appreciate when I see it ….. Johnny Bench.

It’s crazy how consistent Bench’s signature is. This has to be from like the early 90’s…

Ken Griffey Jr is the most iconic and clean modern signer, but IMO Michael Cuddyer is the modern day GOAT for classy signature.

I don't have any, but Mariano Rivera's signature is very nice.

Killebrew shamed Cuddyer into making sure his autograph is immaculate. But good for Cuddy for listening and caring.

This is an early Killebrew when he was 20 during spring training. He was so pleased that I asked for his auto. I think he would have signed a dozen times if asked. His current HR total at that time was 9.;)

Wow Frank great auto & story. Hope all is well.

Bench is very consistent with his auto. I received this auto from him at Wrigley field in 1971 or '72. It was the only autograph he gave that day and I was the lucky recipient.

The King, Richard Petty. In his late 80s, still signing for free TTM and beautifully:

The good doctor has gotten more stylized but still nice and legible:

The Juice always had a nice signature...when he wasn't murdering people.

Here's the opposite. The one on the left is a card I own from early in Clemens' career -- you'd know who it was without the photo. On the right is the scribble he's now giving people for $200 a pop. Sad.

Great thread!
Certainly Nolan Ryan would have to be added to this list! ;)
Cheers to all players that value giving the fans a readable, quality signature.

And for a $75 donation for ANY card sent to him -- it's a great deal!

Dave Parker has a beautiful signature. I have a photo of it on a baseball he signed for me in 1987 when he was with the Reds. I caught a foul ball during batting practice before a game against the Cardinals and I wanted Pete Rose to sign it, so I saw Dave Parker there in front of their bench and asked him if he could "get me an autograph"? and he looked at me with a seriously stern face and said "who's"? So of course, I said yours! He smiled and said "sure" and signed my ball. I know he knew I wanted Pete's autograph. I treasure this ball for the moment I had with him and got to see his personality. I'm having trouble uploading it here for some reason.
