Help Identifying this newly discovered 1936 Olympic cards
3 Attachment(s)
These cards were made by Ahlgrens-Bilars a Candy company that also made the well known Cloetta cards.
https://www.cloetta.com/en/about-clo...hlgrens-bilar/ This set was made to commemorate the 21 different events in the 1936 Olympics and each card shows the Gold Medal winner as well as Silver and Bronze finalists. Naturally the Jesse Owens cards are the 2 most important one's and could indicate another 1936 Rookie card. Just curious if anyone has seen these before or knows anything about them. They are thick card stock and measure ; 1 x 3 7/8 " and are blank backed. I don't have the full set but it features other famous American Athletes from those games. thanks, Amit |
They look like gum sticks; maybe an insert?

A possibility for sure since they were released in some product made from a Candy Company.
I'd have to find some info as to what items they made back in 1936 and see some packaging to confirm it. |
These are really cool, thanks for sharing.
I’ve not seen these before. Alt caption- a little demoralizing that someone beat my marathon PR in 1936 with a lack of technology that we have today. |
My pleasure ..i was super excited to find them.

Looks like his card is cut short missing the part below the line identifying the manufacturer..i wonder if he knows that?

I emailed the seller an FYI and sent him pics of what a full card looks like..of course i got no reply and he still identifies his card as exmnt-nrmnt..oh well .i tried.
