As the thread title says, can anyone positively identify this 1930's Pittsburgh Pirate? The player looks familiar, but I can't come up with a name. This photo was listed as a 1934 photo with Babe Ruth and Al Williams, but I can't find an Al Williams on any Pirates roster in the 1930's. The only thing I can find for an Al Williams in the 1930's was for a guy who debuted with Washington in 1937.

Any information would be appreciated.

The newspaper image below is from the Victoria (Texas) Advocate of September 3rd, 1933. It identifies the man to the right of Babe Ruth as Al Williams, an aviator and former New York Giant pitcher (1916-1917) who was participating in an exhibition game. Nobody by that name played for the Giants those years. A pitcher named Al Williams played for the Bushwick baseball club in Brooklyn at that time; perhaps he had tried out for the Giants in spring training.
