Pre WWII HOF'ers And Their Cars

I picked up this Walter photo recently. He was given this car after the 1924 World Series. I believe it came from his estate, according to the very experienced auctioneer. It's about 6 3/4 x 9. It goes well with the other few I have too....

Hi Leon, I'm pretty sure that beauty didn't come from the estate, although there were many showing Walter with his cars. I guess it was a pretty big deal for anyone to own a nice car back then, so they were very proud of theirs when they got to where they could afford one or even better yet, as in the case of this one, got it for free! If you want to post a picture of the back, or PM me, I can probably tell you one way or the other whether this came out of the scrapbooks. On another note, I'm really sorry to have missed you Saturday, I just wasn't up to it. Next year, maybe.

Hi Hank
I got it from Albersheims. I guess these fancy cars were all the rage back then and not much has changed.
Here is a picture of the back. Would have loved to get to catch up with you again. (Excuse the dog hair at bottom. It's a foster's )

I must be slipping, that is surely out of Walter's scrapbooks. That is Griffith Stadium in the background, by the way, and it would have been taken before the end of the 1924 World Series. The car is a Lincoln Town Car, said to be the most expensive sedan on the market, which was presented to Walter before the start of the first game. The small pin below was given to those donating to the fund that paid for the car. Terrific image!

Not mine but I've seen this postcard pop up a few times over the years. Case was known for tractors not cars. My uncles Case car was in his American Pickers episode.

Here's Walter in a car in 1928. Wife driving as she picks him up from the hospital after a flu attack. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...941504981e.jpg

Here is my contribution to the Walter in a car theme. I'm fairly certain it's from the estate but please correct me if I'm wrong Hank! It was also sold by Albershiem.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...49813488df.jpg

Hi Wade,
This one's got me stumped, too, although if Rich said it came from the estate that's good enough for me. He and I have done a number of deals over the years and whatever he says you can take to the bank. Can you post or PM me with a shot of the back?
