MLB Franchise Moves

The A's will play at Sutter Stadium in Sacramento for 3 years beginning this year:

The Rays will play 2025 at Steinbrenner Field this year:

Will Tropicana Field be replaced by a new Gas Plant Field? Will they relocate to Orlando? Hmmm...

I doubt the Rays move to Orlando. The damage to the dome in St. Pete might be enough to entice lawmakers to finally build Stu a new park on the taxpayer dime.

The Stadium economic grift is a tired argument. Owning an MLB team is a rich mans game, they can foot the bill because we all know the value add to the franchise, ala SF Giants. I don't fault the big boys playing with their toys but stop virtue signaling that if normal folks pay for a stadium they will enjoy some economic benefit. And if you own a team the worst look is being a cheapskate while the value of your franchise increases exponentially.

The only guy I would vote to build a stadium for is Bill Veeck, the last working class owner of a baseball team.
