Everyone be aware. Beckett messed up badly. AND it’s a fake 1915, not 14.

Yikes - that one definitely does not look good!

Aquarian Sports Cards 01-28-2025 07:31 AM

At least they cut the perforations off...

jingram058 01-28-2025 07:50 AM

And it's WAY too thick. Dead giveaway.

luciobar1980 01-28-2025 07:55 AM

It’s listed for sell on eBay.

Nice catch @CrackaJackKid. This reminded me of the Dover Reprint that PSA encapsulated a few years back, which you also caught!

Thanks man! I take my Cracker Jacks serious! Haha

Side note though, I find it alarming these “professionals” get it wrong this often with multiple checkpoints along the grading trail.

Don't worry guys, eBay Authentication services will catch this right away. Whoever buys it should be safe.

Can’t believe seller hasn’t taken the card down….

conor912 01-29-2025 10:20 AM

To this day, that Mack was the most egregious PSA error I’ve ever seen. If I remember correctly, the owner wasn’t even a card guy and submitted it himself not even knowing the difference. He put it on eBay thinking it was legit since PSA slabbed it. When it was pointed out, he provided documentation proving his story, and that’s when PSA slid in and bought it from him to destroy it.

How much did eBay pay him for it?

Refunded his grading fee for that card, and gave him a few freebies like membership and a PSA ballcap.

Yeah, since the card was fake it had no value. Now that I think of it, at least one guy was pissed because he wanted to buy it for his PSA F Up collection or something like that, and was willing to pay substantially more that PSA was offering him. The old thread is still there, I bet.

Any ideas on what Beckett would do or if they would even care?

Balticfox 02-01-2025 01:30 PM

Fake card slabbed

So what else is new?

PSA (not eBay) compensated him with a few worthless freebies.

I don't remember anyone being pissed. I was one of those interested in buying it for my error/complete joke graded card collection.

They gave him a refund and 2 marketing things. Not a bad ROI for PSA....
