1940 World Series Ticket : Please Help Questions

Can ticket experts please fill me in on what this ticket is? To me it looks like a 1940 World Series Game 1 Ticket. I believe the game was played in Cincinnati though. Is this a ticket that was produced before the game schedule came out? Which would explain why it is unused? Thanks for your input. Joe

Hi Joe,
Nope!
What you are looking at is a full ticket to 1940 Opening Day at Briggs Stadium.
World Series tickets are printed on different ticket stock.
I looked to see what happened in the game.
It looks like the hometown Tigers lost to the St. Louis Browns 5-1

I hope this helps! ;)

Thank You! The text "Opening Championship Game" is what threw me off. Once again I look silly but am so happy this forum exists!

“lost to the St. Louis Browns” is not a phrase that was often heard!
