Best Jackie Robinson book?

Any recommendations for Jackie biographies? Looking for the deepest dive into his life and career.

Hands down, Arnold Rampersad's 1997 bio, JACKIE ROBINSON A Biography.

Also, Roger Kahn's THE BOYS OF SUMMER. He covered the Dodgers with the New York HERALD - TRIBUNE, and was very sympathetic to Mr. Robinson. Kahn makes the '52 - '53 seasons come alive, and there's enough about Robbie in there to show his extremely deep daily contribution to the team. Then, in the early 1970's, Kahn traveled all over the country to interview a dozen or more of the surviving players from the 1952 team. Roger's chapter on Jack is priceless.

Brent, I hope you venture on to read both books. I think you'll be glad you did. I would go for hardcovers on EBAY. You should be able to purchase each for less than $15.:) --- Brian Powell

I need to read a Jackie book too and I thought "I Never Had It Made" was his best book ??

As someone who has read more than my fair share of baseball books I highly recommend “Opening Day” by Johnathan Eig.
