1950s Autograph Identification Questions

Hi-

A friend of mine has an autograph book that contains several signatures I cannot identify. Below are some of these. Can anyone please help identify any of these? The book was compiled in the early 1950s in Pittsburgh. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Thank you! I am amazed at how quickly you did that. I will post more later. Thank you again!

Hilarious how some autographs can be misread.

We have:

1.

Wayne Terwilliger
Frank Hiller

2.

Erv Dusak
(can't make out the bottom one)

3.

Joe Hatten
Bill MacDonald

4.

Carmen Mauro

5.

Cloyd Boyer

6.

Mike Goliat

I took the last unidentified signature. I went into adobe and adjusted brightness and contrast. I then used Ulead to add blue tint. Based on the time period I would guess Jack Maguire, but BillyCoxDodgers3B knows baseball signatures better than I do.

Thank you guys! I really appreciate your help with all of these. I am also sorry about the quality of these photos. Here are some additional ones I could not identify plus an interesting one. The interesting one is Wagner. The person who sold this to my friend wrote that she obtained the Wagner signature (and all others) in person. Obviously, this might not be true but I figured I would share. The signature of Wagner is below Jim Hearn's signature.

1. Jim Hearn

2. George Strickland, Richie Ashburn

3. Bill Nicholson

4. Definitely could have some elements of a hastily scrawled George Sisler, but I have never seen him employ that style of G. He was also one to take his time to sign anything and didn't tend to abbreviate his first name nor underline his autograph. In spite of all of this, parts of this autograph are eerily reminiscent of Sisler. Before anyone suggests it, no, it doesn't look like George Sisler, Jr., who had a very distinctive and completely different looking signature. This one is up in the air right now.

5. Don Mueller, Bill MacDonald again

6. Ted Beard, Gil Hodges

7. Jack Phillips (the 1947 debut)

8. Wally Westlake, Frank Gustine, Mel Queen, Sr., Hank Schenz

9. Erv Palica

10. Mike Garcia

Thank you very much! This is really helpful. I was surprised when you said one was possibly Sisler but I see what you mean (and I just read he was a scout for Brooklyn so he might have been around when this person was gathering autographs). I really appreciate all of your help with these.

I do have several more I cannot identify (last batch). I am bad at this. To my eyes, the first is York Saslu, the second one is Mickey Gassar (the other signature on the page is Jerry Coleman), the third is Nellie Jones, I cannot even start to identify the fourth one, and the last one is Bill Sowerton. Of course, none of these people exist (or if they do/did, they never played Major League baseball).
