BST limit on posts?

Seems like we are back in Jackie Worldwide Pants territory these days. If you have been trying to sell something since last summer or fall . . . and your tappped it or reduced the price 7 times. . . .hate to break the news but no one is interested. It happens . . . you are far more interested in a particular item than anyone else. Time to move on.

Actually, two people came to my mind right away, and neither are you.

"I can't believe I still own this."

Maybe it's because you've reduced the price on your novelty ticket 6-7 times, and even now it still is priced at 4x its value.

I know for a fact I'm thought of when making this post and by posters above. And I'm more than fine with that. I've sold countless items that took months and months of bumps and price reductions. Usually trying to be around a week or so in between, but of course many times being faster and other times much slower. There are hundreds of people who check the forum semi annually or similarly infrequent.

People watch posts and when the items for sale reach a threshold they want to pay they will. I think listing items that are much of the time unique or interesting puts me in a slightly different boat as well.

If it takes 100 bumps I don't see any problem with that, active forum members somehow being a bad thing is a strange thought to me. I like to sell here, items I have posted could've sold on other platforms the instant I list them, but I like n54. Just scroll past posts you aren't interested in. People derailing threads into arguments is 1000 times more of a problem than bumping posts.

Can you imagine how dead the forum would be if people didn't bump posts?

No hard feelings to anybody who posted here or posts after. I've done deals with many active users and like you all.

I do not get to benefit from being within Jackie Worldwide Pants territory, since I live just outside its well-defined borders.

I'm pretty sure if someone isn't interested, they don't have to look at it. I don't see what problem a monthly bump is with no price change, considering new people join all the time, or a bump anytime with a price drop. Weekly, yeah that might be a stretch. I'd like to think this forum isn't filled with people too lazy to click to Page 2.

I like when sellers of obviously wildly overpriced items -- even after the fourth price reduction -- taunt us with "It's going back into the safe" if it's not sold THIS time. As if that threat of losing the item to the ages will somehow spur us into overpaying for it, finally.

Hopefully those borders are wide enough for the wide borders crowd!

Is this actually an issue?

I haven't seen a big issue but I miss things sometimes.

It does pay to check over there. This one came from there back in 2018. Seems like just yesterday...sort of.

You drive a hard bargain Mr Roberts, this way to the credit office.

Thank you Al, I will. I just won't bump my items so often and I am guilty of that so I need to give others a chance as well and slow things up a bit. Net54 is great and I certainly don't want to mess a good thing up.

All things, well most will sell if priced right.
BST used to be a place where things could be bought reasonably. Now many things are overpriced, heck Ive even seen one thing in the past cross listed with eBay that was actually higher here.
eBay costs upward of 20% to sell there. I would imagine a discount of close to that listed price should be priced here. But , what do I know?

Quite a bit I'd say. When it comes to common sense anyway, you're golden.

;)

Why is there a presumption that the full savings of an off ebay transaction should be passed on to the buyer? Especially when it's already a big advantage to the buyer not to pay taxes. Just curious.

Only when I’m buying. Plus, no sales tax in Oregon or for vault people.

Because that's the real world. Buyers expect deals, especially when it comes to non-essentials.

;)

Snapolit1 01-22-2025 04:37 AM

Sometimes you really would like to raise funds, either to make a purchase or offset one. We’ve all been there. Maybe try another fresh item instead of beating a dead horse.

If you buy any of my cards on BST, I will keep them for you as long as you like in my vault.
