Hats off to LOTG

I just received an email from LOTG indicating that a portion of the profits from their next auction will be donated to the victims of the SoCal fires. As a local resident who has seen the destruction I salute Al and his guys for this generous act. I will consign additional material to this auction and I hope others will follow suit to make sure this is a memorable event. I also hope that this inspires other auction houses to follow Al's lead and pledge a portion of their profits to this worthwhile cause.

Well done, Al!

Agreed that this is the spirit in how we come together to help those that have been impacted beyond their control. . Much admiration to Al. Join the cause in any way you can.

Al is is loaded with integrity, compassion, trust, and old school values, a solid human being. His decision does not surprise me in the least. I don't sell much but I'll consign what I can to his next auction.

First Class

I won something from Al in an auction a long time ago, my favorite story, I always round it off to the nearest dollar on the money order, I told my wife, Al sent a check back for a quarter, I never wanted the change back, Al is first class all the way.

Well said, Phil.

We spend so much time on the board bashing the bad guys and complaining about all the bad things in the hobby. How about the other side of the coin—rewarding the good guys? I’m also disappointed that the deep pocket auction houses in the hobby have not followed suit, not even the ones based in SoCal.

If someone randomly told me that one auction house would perform this act of compassion and generosity, I would have guessed Al without hesitation.

Magnificent gesture.

Great job Al and team, minor connection to two threads Ken Goldin announced they would donate 100% of the Paul Skenes 1/1 patch auto card of the 11 year old allows Goldin to auction off through his auction house.

Not sure what you are saying. Are you saying that Ken said, if he gets the rookie card, he will donate all the buyers premium to California wildfire relief? If so, let’s hope Ken gets it. If not, hopefully Ken still figures out a way to donate. Where are the rest of the auction houses?

Schlesinj 01-23-2025 08:55 PM

Yes, that is what he posted.

Casey2296 01-23-2025 10:14 PM

Probably a unpopular opinion but I see Al's altruistic generosity and Kens "marketing" as two different things.
