But let’s say you had to choose a card to take…

Same hypothetical on the fire but this time you get to save something from your collection.

For me it is easy. I have a binder of irreplaceable items about my boxing cousins, amassed over decades. I’d grab that.

I have this 1/1 Wade Boggs/Roger Clemens 1990 Score wrong back pair I bought directly from Score back in the day. My most prized collectable since the day I bought it because it is my 2 all time favorite players on error cards.

For memorabilia it is a toss up between a 1/1 Wade Boggs All Star presentation bat LS makes for the players. An Eddie Mathews experimental LS Spline bat. A Wade Boggs gamer from 1983 a great guy and fellow member sent me for free.

Sorry to be a wet blanket, I commented on the previous thread and it felt awkward, since then I found out my brothers BIL lost his house in Malibu, wife and a 3 month old baby, their life changed forever. Total loss , over leveraged and under insured. 20 million down the drain.
no disrespect but I'm an empath and my heart breaks for my fellow Californians,
I'm not giving up my 14 CJ Cobb but my 53 Mantle is definitely on the table to help my fellow middle class folks in distress.

Probably the folder with these, as it is the most unique items of my favorite set for the last 21 years. I believe it is the closest thing to a full production ATC/AL T card sheet still surviving today.

All of my OJs, t cards, n cards, e cards, Goudeys, Play Balls, etc., are in 1 binder or the safe deposit box. I love all my cards and memorabilia, complete sets. But I would take that 1 binder. Totally irreplaceable.

Today I'm unpacking my suitcases of cards that were going to go to my old warehouse at the first warning (which thankfully never expanded the mile and half to my house).

First packed were three registry sets: 1910 Obak; 1960 Topps baseball, 1959 Morrell set.
Then I pulled my 1958-1962 baseball binders. I focused on sentimental value rather than monetary value. Then it dawned on me to throw in some valuable cards.

Tough calls.

In the aftermath, I'm becoming mindful of what I own of my collection, and what of it owns me. The latter ones are going on the auction block soon.

I would say my chariots of fire memorabilia or my two Mathewson T206 Cards.

If I had to narrow it down, probably Eric Liddell first, then Abraham’s auto, then Montague card.

-Harold Abrahams Autograph
-1922 Bunsen Confectionery EA Montague card
-1924 Gallaher British Champions Eric Liddell, Harold Abrahams, Henry Stallard
-Various Lord Burghley cards
-1929 Godfrey Philips Harold Abrahams and Charley Paddock
-Mathewson T206 White Cap
-Mathewson T206 Portrait

Taking into consideration both aesthetic appeal/nostalgia and value, the first card binder I'd grab is this one with my Topps Hockey card sets from 1957-58 to 1963-64 (missing only Bobby Hull's rookie card) plus most of a 1964-65 Tall-Boys Hockey set:
