Congratulations the the inaugural class of the Baseball Hall Of Commons.

Thirty players were nominated and five received the completely random mark of appearing o at least 25% of ballots cast.

Without further ado, here are the inductees.

Rocky Colavito - 42.15%
Lance Berkman 30.58
Boog Powell 30.38
Eric Davis 28.10
Reggie Smith 26.45

Interesting.

I wonder if the results would have been different if everybody was limited to say 5 players to vote for at a time. I think I probably voted for everybody on that list, but if I only had to pick 5, I think Reggie Smith was the only sure thing of the final class for me, with Colovito and Berkman getting serious consideration, but not shoe-ins.

Interesting that Denny McLain did not make the Top 5.

31 win season.
A stretch from 67-71 where he was incredible.
A WS ring.
And he is proficient at keyboard.

I think his dominance was largely forgotten.

For me personally, McLain's post baseball criminal record disqualifies him for me. He hurt a lot of people, including people I know, with the whole Peet Packaging scandal. He robbed them of their futures.

He's dead to me.
