1915 Cracker Jack Alexander

Memory Lane has a PSA 5 up for sale, and they claim in the description that it would grade higher except for the fact that "Cracker Jack" is supposedly misprinted and extends into the top border. As far as I can tell, all the 1915 CJ Alexanders do that. https://memorylaneinc.com/site/bids/...e?itemid=85766

Thoughts?

I don't know if I buy that as a reason for a lower grade regardless of if it's present on all examples or not.

Here's a PSA 8.5 that Heritage sold: https://sports.ha.com/itm/baseball-c...umbnail-071515

I see others that look like mine not the ML examples.

Memory Lane has no idea whether the card was "downgraded" for that common trait. And likewise, PSA does not know either. There is no consistency from one grader to the next, and the card could grade differently on any given day.

To me the ML card looks like a "5" regardless of the "Cracker Jack" placement. It's just another example of people giving too much credence to grading companies and reading things that are not there.
