1854 Mays holy crap! Has to be a 1/1!!!!!

Seriously, I am watching some of their auctions now and can’t tell what you please. Please educate me on how that works and how to spot it.
Thanks,
Chris

if you look at the bidding you will see a so called "Private" bidder you will not see their EBAY User name
this bidder has over 84% with the seller
his 30-Day Summary
Total bids:
371
Items bid on:
311
Bid activity (%) with this seller:
84%
all those bids and not a single Green highlight indicating he won anything
that much bidding it is maybe its a paid employee doing it
pushing up the price

WOW ^ Can it be reported to eBay?

It very well could be that the bidder is a fan of Probstein, only bids on baseball cards that are being auctioned (which is tough to do nowadays on eBay with 99% of cards offered only with BINs) and the other 16% is with bids among GMA, 4SC, etc.

Or it is shill bidding ... which one must accept on eBay, unfortunately.

The price doesn't seem unreasonable btw

It seems unlikely that someone would start shill bidding on a card with over 6 days remaining in the auction which is when the bidder in question placed their bid.

its really simple by being out bid ebay will notify several times prior to auction ending so he placed the bid , check back near ending to see if winning bid is pushed up by the "Private"

FYI if you look up their other auctions the is at least one PRIVATE bidder
on many of their auctions ???

I honestly don't get all the worrying about eBay bid history. Not long ago I read a post about someone not bidding on an eBay item because it had PRIVATE bidding. Then a couple days later the same person was bidding at an Auction House that gives absolutely no information. Just confuses me with all the double standards used in bidding.:D

huge difference with the Big Auction House , shill bidder could win and the be taken to civil court for non payment, , auction still has the card and will not release card till issue resolved , so huge risk
Ebay shill Bidder could throw in high bid and not worry if he wins as seller will just state buyer asked to cancel sale and ebay automatically accepts

zero risk for bidder zero consequence for sell and zero cost to either , and then the card gets relisted till right price is reached
