He's easy to find on eBay. A cranky sort & know -it- all.

After reading the horror stories about him, when I wanted a card he had for sale I was nervous about making an offer. I ended up making a respectable offer, he accepted and everything went perfect.

For a while now he's been listing stuff at way high prices and then "discounting" it to still a high price but now with an 80% discount.

But he is easily offended.

Personally, and from firsthand experience, I think he might have multiple personality disorder.

Mathew is a great guy.
He has to be in the running for most fake accounts under someone elses name in the history of this forum. He and his significant other love to ask for your info so they can stalk you. I personally found it quite fun but it has deeply disturbed others he has stalked and harassed.

I don't mean right now. He hasn't harassed me since the last time he tried convincing you I was using a fake name.

To get back to Mathew my 2 favorite posts was when he tried to convince members I done time in Texas for counterfeiting. The other was with one of his fake accounts pretending to be a woman from Florida who knew about a 51 Bowman Mantle that was stolen from his "friend".

Ok, thanks. I always want to know of any fake, or suspicious, accounts.

Probably in one of those other threads I talked about Mathew. I met him at a National when he was with another board member. Nicest, most humble guy you would ever want to meet. He 100% admitted he has an issue with his online personna. It's really kind of strange. And, I am pretty sure he runs a successful business that has nothing to do with Ebay.

I know many don’t have a line to cross and they will buy from anyone if they have a card they need. Personally, I have a short list of “not in this lifetime” sellers…that definitely is on the list.

Sometimes I'll see him list things with a $99,999 bin price. And the listing is like that for hours, doesn't get changed and then is deleted randomly. It's extremely strange. Some weird fishy ebay algorithm tactic possibly.

That said, I think I've bought once from him and had no problems.

Dealt with this person(s) quite a bit and always got along with them but a lot of other people whom I respect have had different experiences with them...Jerry

+1. Really nice guy. I've done several deals with him. Always very pleasant and professional.

I know I've bought from him once on net54, perhaps twice. No issues at all.

Based only on my personal experience, my advice would be to avoid at all costs.

If you're a larger ebay seller with a 97 or 98 percent positive FB rating, some might say that's great, 97 or 98 of the time people are happy with their puchases. Unfortunately, 97 or 98 is not good enough, meaning 1 out of every 45 or 50 customers is not happy. Anything less that 99+ is bad.

ALR-bishop 12-30-2024 03:14 PM

He may be quirky but he does have some great stuff which he usually prices at a level that indicates he is happy to keep it if he does not get his price :)

With all the crazy buyers wanting instant shipping or the really crazy ones that actually send you shipping/packing instructions I figured anything over 95 was good.:D:D
