1977 Kellogg's Bostock error (Ellis photo on back)
Hi -
A variety of checklists, online and otherwise, assure me that this card exists, but none of the ones I see can offer a photo of the back to verify it. Does this card in fact exist? If not, my set is finished, so I'd appreciate knowing. Thanks Ted |
I have never seen proof of the 1977 Kellogg’s Bostock/Ellis or the 1976 Kellogg’s Jim Kaat White Sox emblem on back, they are both on my list of cards that don’t exist until I see proof of otherwise. Someone recently showed me proof of a different type of card that was on my ‘doesn’t exist’ list so anything is possible.

Thank you - I'm going to go ahead and consider the set done, then.
Happy holidays! |
PSA has 3 Dock Ellis variations in their Pop report. Seeing as how the front image is the same as the inset of Bostock, that would be a hard error for PSA to report multiple times.
https://www.psacard.com/pop/baseball...kelloggs/40842 They have 21 labeled 1976 Kaat with White Sox on back. Add: However, the only one in the APR sold listings is an ebay listing from 2019 that the label does not show as "White Sox on back", so that means the original PSA registration slot was changed to "White Sox on back" when someone convinced them of the difference. There does not seem to be a Kaat White Sox variation attached to any of the Top 10 registry sets of 1976 Kellogg's that are visible. https://www.psacard.com/pop/baseball...kelloggs/40845 |
