Anyone recommend any good upcoming shows in the DC area for 2025?
Anything notable that sticks out to you in your experience... particularly for our genre, especially pre-war? I really appreciate the heads up!!

Chantilly is the obvious answer.

Philly isn’t super far away either.

Can't say that I've ever been but I've recently heard of something called the Mid-Atlantic Sports Card Show located in Silver Spring, MD. Out of the blue I kept getting notifications for it on my FB feed.
With that said, looking at the pics on the website, I don't think it's very large so not sure what the pre-war/vintage scene looks like at this place. https://www.mid-atlanticshow.com/ Other than that, I usually just go to the Chantilly show when I remember that it's actually happening. |
The Philly show in my view blows away Chantilly for vintage cards, Chantilly I feel is more of an In Person Auto Show Now with more modern but there is a fair mix.

In Philly you probably gain 3-4 high quality dealers that you will not see in Chantilly. |

I operate Pirate Dog Cards & Collectibles Shows out of the Central Va area. 1.5 hrs from DC. In regards to post #4 of the aforementioned promotions, I am having severe issues with the promoter including intimidation, bribery and just plain skullduggery to try to push around a local promoter in his hometown. If anyone is interested in hearing the story, check out my YouTube channel @supremevintagecards
I have been on this forum a long time and I know us area Chantilly collectors/members stick together. Let me know your thoughts on what is happening in the VA promoter world. It’s a dirty business no doubt. Jason Wells |

Small, overcrowded, poorly lit…Not to mention vintage is limited to one or two dealers. |
There are a lot of shows in the DC area, but only the Chantilly show really has any vintage to speak of.

I'd concur with Chantilly. There used to be a very high-quality show in Richmond but it's long gone.

Input on Chantilly?
Looking for opinions and past experiences...
I am interested in attending the Chantilly show April 4-6. I collect prewar, mostly T206, and 50s-60s. For those who have been to the show in recent years, what was your experience like and was there a good variety of what I am looking for? In your opinion were prices fair? Any notable, good or bad, stories regarding dealer interactions? Thanks! |
