T205 Neal Ball in Mile High last night

I love a nice high-grade T205 as much as the next guy, but this price shocked me: https://milehighcardco.com/LotDetail...ntoryid=106463

Also, doesn't it look like it was mis-placed in the holder? Do people think that can be fixed without damaging the card (or is the card already likely damaged)?

That is a wildly crazy price for that card but it's also one of the best looking T205s you will ever see (I have no personal interest in it.).

As for the card slipping in the holder. If it were mine I would probably want to crack the case instead of tapping it to get it back. My first tap would be a big fleck of gold becoming disengaged at the bottom of the holder. The $3.5k card would become a $150 card....

Nice card in a new slab and it probably went for the price it did because it looks like probably the nicest 6 you'll find and there are only 2 with higher grades (a 7 and an 8)

I happen to have the 7 and I'm guessing the top registry person has the 8. My guess is people who want to build a high grade set realize a 6 will be as good as it likely gets and bid accordingly. Not saying it wasn't an overpay but also can understand as we all can when two people keep bidding on something just because they have to have it.

Sorry to hijack the thread but when looking at the auction I noticed lots 20 and 21. Both Jim Brown rookies graded by PSA. Lot 20 is an 8.5 that sold for $220,692 and lot 21 is an 8 that sold for $24,639.

Is half a point in grade worth $200,000 difference in price?

As Peter (and others) will often say, "the registry is a powerful drug."

The answer to your query will undoubtedly be expressed by members in only one of two ways:
1. WAR
or
2. "Eye Appeal"

This has me rethinking a PSA 6 of a T205 Harry Steinfeldt I passed up last weekend for $600....

collectt205 12-13-2024 11:08 PM

That's one of the highest priced common T205s I've come across. Someone was desperate, there were some high grade examples in REA last week for a fraction of that.

Kinda looks like a big screwup by PSA ,
T205 is not a thin card - When that was encapsulated it surely clasped down pretty tight - The chances that card has a deep indentation on the bottom border has got to be high

Yea, I've never seen this before in this particular holder style. Could be bad. I'd think a big hit, say post office truck slamming in a pothole. Would damage the border in some way before it would go under? I dunno.

I can't get past them calling it "perfectly centered"

Looks like some people think this is now what a PSA 6 T205 Neal Ball should cost: https://www.ebay.com/itm/25677381156...1568&recoPos=1

Consider the source.

T205 Neal Ball in Mile High last night

nice looking card. all I know is that if I submitted this card for grading it would come back as Auth - evid. of trim with that paper hanging off the top border.
