Hey guys!! I have this 1977 Walter Payton card and would like to get a couple of opinions on it please. I'm also going to show a 1977 that has been authenticated by Beckett for comparison. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

I'm certainly not an expert or even well-schooled in Payton autograps, here is mine which was pack-pulled and all the legit ones I've seen have looked like this. Years ago there were fake proline cards that had numbers on the back, more round loops at the bottom of the W and still had a proline seal.
Maybe somebody more educated on Payton autos will chime in, I would be wary of that one if it was for sale. |
A pic out of the sleeve might help some. I know some of his autos are a little short compared to ones he spent more time on. Probably a rushed IP auto vs a sit down one where he took his time.
Here’s a shorter one that might be similar to yours. Not my card. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...b1a0d5f6e9.jpg |

Probably just too tough for someone to say for sure with the quality and placement of the auto from just images...can't really get the full scope of it. Probably JSA would be a good option if/when they are in your area at a card shop or card show, can get a same-day opinion.
