You may want to check out the Vintage Football Community. There's a lot of information about the 1986 McDonald's set on that forum if memory serves. The founder of VFC is on this board.

I think it is a great, underappreciated set. I'm a Harry Carson collector, so I've got a couple of his 86 McDonald's cards. If you like the 86 McDonald's, you might also like the regional sets issued in partnership state / city police departments in the late 1980s. (Similar size as the 86 McDonalds, and in many ways much better action photos than the main Topps issue cards of the era).

I have a dozen or so of these. The 4 color varieties make it fun. Great set!

If this set was 'standard' size it would be more popular, however.

I'm working on the master set of all of these cards in all four colors. It is slow going but I'm making progress in completing this project. I love these cards!

P.S. Happy to chat about Vintage Football Community if you are interested in learning more.

That's Cool.
I would agree that this is a really neat set. I can't believe so many still exist, I figured people back in 86 would have scratched the card and redeemed their winnings and thrown the card away.

Right now I have a couple of Walter Paytons a Joe Montana and Dan Marino. Will be sending to SGC to slab, as I want them protected since they are pretty thin. I preferred CGC but they do not slab these and PSA doesn't appeal to me.

Looking forward to accumulating more, especially Walter Payton, I need the green and orange tabs for his complete run then will probably turn to Lawrence Taylor.

At one time I had over a hundred sets of the last week Patriots.
From a McDonalds employee I knew.

Had the counter sheet that explained the winners.

Some cards had two different prizes, which led me to look for variations, and those cards had cropping variations that could be used to identify the prize. Sadly after the promotion.

still have a couple sets and a box of extras around.

I don't love the Rice RC, because you can't really make out his face under the helmet. Nothing unusual for FB cards I guess, but still.

Do you still have the counter sheet? I'm looking for one of those.
