Modern card appearances
1 Attachment(s)
Just updated my team histories pages to include 2024:
https://mrpekrul.wixsite.com/narciss...team-histories I don't collect modern and haven't for some years. But for this annual update effort I grab images of modern cards. What is going on with cards as new as 2024 Topps - why are images looking grainy, dark, fuzzy, etc. I've attached a sample here, but it is ubiquitous in recent Topps sets both base and others and there are many worse than this - why are they doing this? Am I just a grumpy old man to say I prefer sharp color images? |
I continue to do the Topps base and any update set each year to keep my run going but all of the sets post 1994 are still in the boxes they came in. I instead have done all the Heritage sets from 2001 to date and put them in binders to keep up with the modern players. I am just stuck in the past

I feel like Topps usually picks a bad photo for really good players rookie cards. The Harper Chrome rookie is so bad. I also really don't like any of the Dominguez autograph rookies to come out of the Chrome products.
Bowman is typically high quality but I find their image choices to be boring too. Bobby Witt Jr.'s first bowman card is very bland. |
They blurred all of the backgrounds.
