CLOSED…1958 Topps Lot of Thirteen Low Grade Cards…ends Mon, 12/2, 8PM MST
 

This weekend’s lot is a baker’s dozen 1958 Topps cards, with all the wear associated with collectors throughout the years, trading and flipping them. Probably the best player in the bunch is Clem Labine, who holds the record for appearances and saves by the Brooklyn Dodgers. Both records were broken in Los Angeles in later years, but Labine was a key member of those Boys of Summer. Vin Scully credited him as one of the main reasons the Dodgers won the World Series in 1955, with his clutch pitching in relief. The best name in the group goes, of course, to Calvin Coolidge Julius Caesar Tuskahoma McLish. I would have loved to see that name spelled out on a card!

Just a buck bid to start, with whole dollar increments. Shipping is about $5-$6 (I'll get you a total after I pack them up). and there's my standard 10-minute rule at the close. The auction closes at 8PM MDT (Mountain Time), however a bid between 7:50-8:00 will extend it another ten minutes from the time of that bid, and any subsequent bid. Note on shipping: The USPS is really frustrating in that you have to ship as a Ground Advantage Package to get tracking, and to be able to protect the cards from the sorting machine, which is why it's so high. Since shipping is sometimes more than the winning bid, and since I get a lot of repeat buyers, I am happy to hold onto the cards as long as you want, to combine shipping on future wins. You just tell me when you want them, and I'll combine them, mail them, and give you the total. Most guys get 4-6 lots for the same $6 as one would cost.
