Game Used Bat - Lacquer peeling/cracking
Hi, I’m new here, but this forum has been recommended to me before. I have a question about a game used bat and was wondering if anyone can help me. It’s a 2003 Louisville slugger game used bat from a high profile player. There is a heavy coat of lacquer. I’m trying to figure out if this is something that was done Louisville slugger or potentially somebody after the fact. I’ve gotten mixed opinions so far. The lacquer is peeling/cracking. Thank you for any help! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...43f1fc4907.jpg |
LS had a problem with the finish cracking on their bats for a few years.

Would be helpful to have some more images
You often see finish cracking on Rawlings bats of around the later 90s and into the 2000s. Sometimes it happens on a Louisville Slugger but far less common. As for a particular bat, someone who has handled a good many bats should be able to tell though that may relate more to the general look overall than seeing a tiny little section of it.
