Bowling Medals
I was at one time a very active bowler. Over the years I picked up bowling medals and pins. I am looking to downsize and thought I would try to move these items. Does anyone know of any auction house that might be able to sell these items? I know I could use EBAY but don't really want to take the time to list everything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Kind of depends on ……
Hello! The marketability of your items depends on a number of factors. Are these professional title matches or more like local league medals? How old are they? Could you post a few pictures? In general, unless they are jewelry-quality with precious metals and gem stones, they are usually the kind of things that end up in an antique mall for $5-10 each and no buyers. If they are better ones involving National titles on a professional level, then you are really talking about a sports collectible that could go to an auction house. As usual, I’d always be interested in hearing what others think but this is what I’ve seen after 40
years as an oddball sports collector. |
Thanks
I appreciate the info. The bowling medals are mostly from the Old American Bowling Congress Tournaments. They date from 1903 - to the 40's. These were given away as participation medals and pins. The older ones are extremely scarce as not many teams participated. If I can figure out how to do it I will post some photos.
