Coombs was a star athlete at Colby and on this day pitched with alumni from his 1906 college baseball team against the 1912 Colby Varsity baseball team. Coombs is standing at the left with his arms crossed listening to praise form a college official. A rare PC celebrating the fabled A’s pitcher who in 1910 won 31 regular season games and 3 World Series games as the A's defeated the Cubs 4-1 in the WS.
