Open for Bidding - Love of the Game's Fall, 2024 Auction
 

Hi everyone!

Just a quick note to let you know that the LOTG Fall, 2024 auction is open for bidding. The auction closes Saturday, November 30 - two days after Thanksgiving.

I think this is one of the most interesting auctions we've ever had. A few of the more noteworthy things:

• The Durham Find of historic baseball photography - this is a collection of original photos from the 1920s to the 1950s. Many of the photos are what folks sometimes call "iconic," and others have never been seen before, but there's some great material here.

• A tremendous selection of 19th Century cabinets of Hall of Famers, from a number of different issues.

• A complete, higher-grade E92 Dockman set, broken into individual cards

• A great collection of material related to Jackie Robinson, including a ticket stub from the exhibition between the Yankees and Dodgers where Jackie had his first major league at bats - the second stub known.

• An incredible Type 1 photo of Babe Ruth, Miller Huggins & Lou Gehrig by Louis Van Oeyen

• A fantastic, curated selection of original baseball art, including a brand-new work by Graig Kreindler, featuring Christy Mathewson.

• A near-complete, autographed 1951 Bowman set, sold card-by-card.

This auction is filled with things you hardly ever see. I'm hoping everyone will take a look!

Wow! It's after midnight and I have been perusing these gems for hours and still have seen only about a third of them. I've looked again and again at the Kreindler masterpiece and the memorabilia in this auction is the best I've seen anywhere in ages. I'm staying with this auction a bit longer tonight so I can get some bids in.
