I picked up a couple nice 54B's from Greg Morris. At least one of these guys is a board member here.

Added this mid-grade 1968 Nolan Ryan rookie card to my collection. This one wraps up having his Topps base cards from 1968 to 1981. Very happy with this one.

I also added this mid-grade 1965 Sandy Koufax card to the collection. That wraps up my run of his Topps base cards from the 60s. On to his 50s cards, eventually.

So happy with my just-completed 1971 Topps set that I got a couple of things to go along with it. I keep my sets in binders, with wax-pack wrappers. Picked up a 1971 ten cent wrapper. Also got 3 Greatest Moments cards, Thurman Munson, Clyde Wright and Fritz Peterson.

I recently added this 66 Topps Bob Gibson to my collection for the run of his base cards that I’m working on. Very pleased to have found this one. Pretty nice for a mid-grade version.

Agree. That card is almost always tilted. That's a nice one, a top end 5 for sure.

That Gibson is a monster, congrats.

Great cards...must be something we can't see on that Gibson!!

One of my latest may not seem like much...a 1966 Topps Cleon Jones RC...but kind of a funny frustrating story personally. I routinely look through my sets and upgrade...always working towards EX++. I noticed a small wrinkle in my original a few months ago...bought an upgrade. Came in the mail, another small wrinkle! Ordered another one...super nice looking card. In hand, my bad, I didn't see the ink initials on the back! It wasn't called out, but was in the scan. Ordered another one...another wrinkle!!! For the FIFTH time I reordered another one...SUCCCESS! :) I finally have a nice upgraded Cleon...and will forever be grateful for this card as I thumb through the binder...

Has this happen once before with a 1959 Jim Perry card...not 5 times though...

Thanks, guys. I guess the PSA grader for that 66 Gibson was in a bad mood or something that day.

That is a great looking 66 Cleon Jones rookie card, congrats. You certainly earned it after all that!

When I zoom in on the image above on my iPad, I think I see a little wrinkle at the top right...

Added this 72 Topps Nolan Ryan to my collection this month for my run of his base cards that I’m working on. Pretty pleased with the left-right centering and the top-bottom centering isn’t too bad. Finding a version of this card that I like was very difficult.

I know there are many sets that have issues and maybe it is just me, but finding well centered cards without tilt problems from the 72 Topps set seems to be more difficult than most sets. So many centering and tilt issues. I can only imagine how much trying to put together a complete 72 set would trigger my OCD. 🤪

I agree that 72T is one of the tougher sets for centered cards. Plus you need like 1600 cards to complete it. That's a nice Ryan, especially for the grade.

Thanks, Al. It took several months to find one that I’d be happy with.

1969 and 1975 have also given me some headaches. It’s all relative, I guess, since I’ve spending almost all of my time in the 1966-79 sandbox for while. From what I’ve been reading, I’m know I’ll be running into problems for cards from sets prior to 1966, as well.

Nice Ryan.

Yeah the '72 set is murder on centering and tilt especially. It took me I think 4 copies of the high number Carew before I finally got one I was content with.
