CLOSED...1958 Topps Lot w/Variation...ends Mon, 11/11, 8PM MST
This weekend's lot is a quartet of 1958s that you can use to upgrade that binder! The Hoeft card is the "orange triangle" variation, alluding to the triangle to the lower right of the Tiger emblem. There's also a red variation, but I don't know which one is harder. I was looking up Bob Grim's stats, and saw he was the ROY with the Yankees in 1954, with a 20-6 record. Not too shabby. When he went to tryout for the Yankees as a high schooler, they were filming The Babe Ruth Story that day, so he got $50 out of the deal as an extra, which is pretty ironic, considering he'd be pitching there in a few years.
Just a buck bid to start, with whole dollar increments. Shipping is about $5-$6 (I'll get you a total after I pack them up). and there's my standard 10-minute rule at the close. The auction closes at 8PM MDT (Mountain Time), however a bid between 7:50-8:00 will extend it another ten minutes from the time of that bid, and any subsequent bid. Let me know if you have any questions. Note on shipping: The USPS is really frustrating in that you have to ship as a Ground Advantage Package to get tracking, and to be able to protect the cards from the sorting machine, which is why it's so high. Since shipping is sometimes more than the winning bid, and since I get a lot of repeat buyers, I am happy to hold onto the cards as long as you want, to combine shipping on future wins. You just tell me when you want them, and I'll combine them, mail them, and give you the total. Most guys get 4-6 lots for the same $6 as one would cost.
