6 Attachment(s)
Only 9 total graded by PSA, this would be #10 if you so chose to do....compare to 152 graded Babe Ruth "Called Shot" tickets by PSA. So pretty RARE!
Writing on back of stub confirms this ticket was in the house that memorable day in history. Will ship insured, only ticket is for sale, other pictures just taken from the Web. It was the ultimate David vs. Goliath basketball contest. With an enrollment of just 161 students, Milan High School remains the smallest ever to win a single-class title in the state, shocking the heavily-favored Muncie Bearcats (w/an enrollment of 1,662) with a fourteen-foot buzzer-beater by Bobby Plump to seal a thirty-two to thirty victory over the four-time State Champs. YouTube has the actual footage of the finish: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNW17F7pTew This rare ticket stub witnessed that monumental upset. "Milan High School's improbable 1954 basketball state title changed the course of Indiana sports history. The state championship journey was the inspiration for the 1986 film "Hoosiers," which is considered the No. 1 sports movie of all-time." |
