Chicago 2025 National Announcement: Providing 75 tables for first-time dealers

I just saw this posted on X:

“[emoji599]National Announcement[emoji599]

In response to dealer and market demand, The National has listened to your concerns and is taking action to provide table space to first time dealers.

We are excited to announce the expansion of dealer tables for the 2025 Chicago National! We are committed to supporting first-time dealers who have submitted Letters of Intent and have been on the waiting list.

This expansion will be limited to 75 tables. Each space will include one 8-foot table and two dealer badges. Tables will be located on the upper level in Hall G.

Thank you for your continued support!

Wow, I am glad to hear this. Lets get some new blood into the National!

Interesting it's just a table and not a booth. I am a big fan of getting more "new" vendors in and off the wait list.

Will be interesting to see how the price point works, etc.

If I hadn't given up on shows, I'd have planned to be racing up to the upper level first to check out the new dealers' offerings. So much of the same old, same old on the main floor.

Finally! I have been grousing and writing about the need to expand the show into other rooms at Rosemont to accommodate the expansion of the hobby, and this is a good first step.

I'd still prefer to see them move services like grading and nonsense :) like breaks, vlogging areas, and so on, to the ancillary rooms and put the additional dealers into those areas of the main floor instead.

I will be curious to see the vintage / modern breakdown of these new dealers.

I suspect there will be a lot of modern in that 75.

Also curious how this impacts the staging queue for admission.

Agree with Adam. I guess these 75 will come off the already existing waiting list with no one making special application now after hearing the news. I assume that there are already more than 75 dealers with applications on file?

Oh, I imagine that list is in the hundreds.

It took me years to get off the waiting list so I would tend to agree.

How do these relatively new YouTube dealers get these large (and sometimes multiple) booths?

A lot of them are in the Whatnot Pavilion which is basically a subletting model that Whatnot controls.

Working for a corporate I can assure you that would not be a popular move for those people who are paying significantly more than the vendors. We learned that first hand at the 2023 Burbank Show. Rob and his team learned that and fixed that for the 2024 show to their credit.

However, the breakers, the vloggers (media type), the stage where people do live web casts and people whose monetary rewards are not dependent on show traffic, yes those people can be in a different area. And so can the autograph area move as well if needed

Seventy Five new dealers is a great start.
I think they said there were over 200 people on the waiting list, when they spoke at the Net54baseball dinner a few years ago.
