1989 Score Glossy

I underatand 1989 Score Young Superstars Series are glossy. However my friend pointed out a few base cards feel and look glossy. The one promo card I have also feels and looks glossy. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Never heard of a glossy set for 1989. Any chance for some photos for comparison?

Score came out with Tiffany sets for the 88 and 89 years. Both base and traded sets.

So you can find both non-glossy and glossy versions.

They came in serial numbered sets. The 88 set was to 5000. Not sure about 89 set. Score had a plant here for a short time and another 50 miles away for the entire time they made cards. They made a ton of different sets back then. It used to be you seen them everyplace here but by now most have been thrown in the trash. They used to give the employees cards as bonuses for Christmas and the like. Most just got instantly thrown in the trash. It is very rare now for someone to come up with a big hoard of oddball Score sets.

Anyone have any actual evidence of glossy 1989 sets? Surely there would be something on the packaging denoting the difference. This is potentially a couple of major sets that have been overlooked for 35 years by nearly the entire hobby. These are not currently recognized by Beckett, SCD, COMC, TCDB or PSA.

There is no 1989 Score Glossy parallel set. Living here in DFW if any of them had even been created as a test, they would have gotten out to the local people her via various methods and none of them ever did. And I'm sure we would have gotten them at Beckett as a sample if they were issued that way.

There are glossy cards such as the Young Superstars cards (Series 1 and 2) Series one was an insert and Series 2 was issued only in set form.

Thanks Rich, I was going on an old not so great memory. Did you guys have Score plant(s) in your area? We had 2 here so I was lucky enough to get some never released to the public stuff.

Some stuff was always produced around here. Remember at the 1990 NSCC Score gave out to people on a tour the Score/Sportflic Nolan Ryan card.

The Sportflic cards were made around here in DFW
